One of the type of gameplay VFX I worked on Banishers : Ghost Of New Eden, was the exploration one. And like for the cinematics, I worked on lot of spectral and magical effects. So I used many times our favorites spectral matter textures and materials, but for differents kind of assets like sprites, meshes, local or screen space postprocess, with some color fringing particles, lens flare, and color switching material function for the foliage for exemple. But the most complex effect was the Spectral Leap. An anamorphic portal that you can use to teleport the player between two points in space, when you see it at the right point of view. For this effect, I only used the material aditor and Niagara to place mesh particles between the two positions, and projected the portal onto the particles by reconstructing custom UV with the Spectral Leap axis.

I worked on every aspect of the Spectral leap portal with anamorphosis effect (Symbol, portal pieces, particles trails, ribbons) and every Antea's effect when loading and dashing (Dissolve, particles and trails).
I worked on every aspect of the Remain area. The local effects, caustic effects at distance versus spectral smoke and roots inside, the volumetric fog and the spectral screen effect.
I worked on every aspect of the Ghost Vision postprocess (with LUT given by our Creative Director Philippe Moreau). The screen blur and desaturation by distance effects, the foliage infrared coloration, the fade in wave.
I worked on every aspect of the remains reveal wave effect.
I worked on every aspect of the Banishers senses feedbacks, on the right hand for both characters (Burst effect and particles).
I worked on every aspect of the blue banisher sense call effect. But the smoke flipbook texture was made by my VFX Artist colleague Luke Aboya.
I worked on every aspect of the orange banisher sense call effect. But the fire flipbook texture was made by my Lead VFX Artist colleague Orson Favrel.
I worked on the remain decal master material, the remains ribbons and trails effects.
