For Life Is Strange 2 Episode 4 "Faith", I came back to my favorites things, materials, textures and particle systems. My money shot was the end of the episode with the burning church. I did a lot of tests with different textures and materials with the help of the lighting team to achieve a convincing fire. I did my first postprocess for this project, a heat haze effect for the desert sequence. But I worked with some new smoke and cloud effects too. One for the thunderstorm scene with painted clouds texture with baked lighting done by hand. But I also worked with my Lead Orson Favrel to create a basic 6-way lighting smoke material.

I worked on every fire and burning materials, the sparks and the embers particles but also the power effects (Air distortion, color fringe effects, power or levitation trails) with dust particles when Daniel saves Sean.
I worked on the clouds and lightnings effects (I painted the textures and reproduce differents kind of lightings), the car's lens flares, the smoke and the ground particles.
My Lead VFX Artist Orson Favrel made the 6-way lighting smoke texture and we worked together to make the material. I worked on the particle system, the fire materials, the embers and the fake lighting effects.
I worked on the heat haze postprocess material, the pebbles particles, the dust and fog sheets, the mirages, the wind and blowing sand effects.
I worked on all the power effects (Air distortion, color fringe effects, power or levitation trails, ...) and the dust particles.
I worked on the swimming pool's water material with fake specular and the caustic effect made with decals.
